Gen 4 (11) – 14 “Now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you cultivate the ground, it will no longer yield its strength to you; you will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth. Cain said to the LORD, My punishment is too great to bear! Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth, and whoever finds me will kill me.

Antidote for Rejection – Fright , Fight, Flight

• Love of God answers to our need to belong from above – I will not fail. Love covers sin, fright & failure

Our Need for Belonging
1 – “I don’t Belong”
• To belong, identity – rejected person feels disowned, belonging to nobody. He trusts nobody. He will be disloyal to everybody. No more alone
• Joh 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,
• Rom 8:14-16 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (15) For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “Abba! Father!” (16) The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,

Our Need to Find Value – I fight for rights
2 – I feel Unworthy – Lost Value
• 1 Pet 1:18,19 –knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers, (19) but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot;

• Paid ransom to be purchased by new Master.

• Value recovered value added, made valuable
• Purchased for purpose
• No more slave to the old

Redeemed by the Blood 2 – Released for a Price
To be Purchased for Jesus’ Ownership
• Slave bought over by wages of sin
• Slave bought over by grace by the blood
• Value brought back – Value added – I am valuable – more than what we think or ask Eph 3:20
• Artificial efforts to add value will cease – more education, more beauty, more likes on FB, climb social ladder
• All I am belongs to Him – my time, my talent, my treasure, my choices – under the Blood.

• Believers will find raging battles nearer Exodus time
• Work will enslave you with minimum perks offered
• Food & clothing as flash points of success
• You can perform & prove – add worth stature for recognition

• Trust Christ to rule your work & finances

• Mammon is the brighter younger brother of Pharaoh
• Mammon is a mocker – I will match what your God can give – finances & fame
• Mammon – I will please your flesh with entertainment & all that pleases flesh
• Mat 6:24 No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Our Need for Community
3 – I feel Far – I fear Intimacy
• We need Community to Practise the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit – this is the real antidote for alienation
• To be better – no more cover up, no more hiding. I feel far away from everyone. I don’t feel loved. I can’t trust love. I know flight, flight, fright
• Behold, You have driven me this day from the face of the ground; and from Your face I will be hidden, and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth
• The Lord created Community – made me ready, made me a part of a body

Reconciliation – No More Enmity – No More Alienation – No More Far
• Col 1:20-21 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. (21) And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,
